Unpacking Spells Relief

Ahhh, I feel relief, and it's not from Rolaids. My home is finally unpacked! We spent this whole weekend running home errands and now we can enjoy our new place! We replaced all 19 lights in the house with fluorescent lightbulbs (.99 at Home Depot!) and got new aerators for the faucets to cut back on water use. Today we are picking up a new water saving showerhead.

I absolutely love my new home! I sat and ate breakfast on the balcony yesterday. It was great! And Friday we watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind on our new sofa! All I need is an end table and lamp and I think the house will be furnished!

Here are a few photos of the place:

Like the stripe that took me forever to paint on the wall??

I hate these cabinets, but they are the least of my worries!

This is my office and probably the most disorganized room of the whole place.

These were taken before we got our new furniture and before we finished unpacking, so I'll have to take some new ones soon! That's why there's no photo of my living room in there!

Congrats! Your place looks so great! I'm all in favor of the minimalistic approach. The fewer things to dust, the better!

I like the painting in the dining room area!

I think it is time for some pics o' my apartment!

Thanks girlies!

Devon, the "minimalist" thing is because of Rob. He is soooo anti-clutter. He said if it weren't for me, he'd have a chair and a bare bulb hanging from the ceiling, and that's it. You should see our storage space! Packed! Oh yeah, and it's also because we have no money so we can't afford "stuff"! Rob and I have lived together for years now, and while it's great sometimes, I wouldn't mind being able to get away sometimes! And now that the whole place is like one giant room, even when I'm in the loft on the computer he talks to me from downstairs!

Mary, thanks! I did that painting on the day we moved in! I'd unpack a box and paint a stripe, unpack another box and paint another stripe! You should totally post pics of your apartment! And your new officina!!
